Support for carers in Walsall

Throughout the year, we hold many regular group sessions and events for carers. In Walsall, our Carers Support team have set up the following sessions:

Carers Men’s Group
Julie Higgins (Carers Team Support Service Worker) regularly holds a support group for any male carer. This is a friendly and supportive group who meet at the Watermill Goscote Walsall. This is an informal session, with regular guest’s speakers.

Asian Womens Group
Sue Powell (Carers Team Support Service Worker) regularly holds an Asian Women’s carers support group, again this is an informal but informative and support group with regular guest speakers, activities and events.

Informal Carers Course
Caroline Russell (Carers Team Support Service Worker) facilities a regular course for those caring for someone with Dementia. The course is designed to enable and support carers with their caring role, with regular guest speakers, activities and quarterly reviews. Booking is essential. Care and support can be made available for the cared for person if transport or replacement care is a concern.

In addition to this, we have also arranged for day trips to local points of interest:

Birmingham Botanical Gardens
Join our Carers Support Team on Thursday 22 September for a trip to Birmingham Botanical Gardens. Attendees should meet at Broadway North Centre at 10am.

Booking is essential by calling 01922 608500 and priority will be for carers.

Emma Bridgewater Pottery
Join our Carers Support Team on Thursday 20 October for a trip to Emma Bridgewater Pottery in Stoke on Trent. Attendees should meet at Broadway North Centre at 10am.
