Service users and carers invited to Liasion & Diversion showcase event

An event showcasing the Trust’s involvement in the new Liaison and Diversion pilot scheme is being held at Broadway North Day Centre tomorrow (8th April), running from 10am-1.30pm. Discussion will focus on what Liaison and Diversion is about, how the service will be developed, and what carers’ and service users’ can expect.

The new service, in operation as of today (7th April), aims to divert those with mental health issues away from the criminal justice system and into local health and care services provided by the Black Country Partnership NHS Foundation Trust and Dudley and Walsall Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust.

The Liaison and Diversion pilot scheme was commissioned by NHS England as part of a second wave of trials. If successful, it will be extended to the rest of the country by 2017.

Lunch will be provided at the event. For more information, or to book a place, please contact Tracy Cross on 01384 324531 or via email at tracy.cross@dwmh.nhs.uk.
