Quality care recognised on Malvern ward

Care provided by members of staff on Malvern ward, based at Bushey Fields Hospital, has received accreditation for the quality of service provided to older adults (aged over 65) with mental health conditions.

The Quality Network for Older Adults Mental Health Services (QNOAMHS) is a nationally recognised accreditation which is issued by The Royal College of Psychiatrists. The accreditation assures staff, service users and carers, commissioners and regulators of the quality of the service provided.

Malvern ward offer specialist assessment, care and treatment to patients and assist individuals, their families, carers and or significant others to understand the nature of their mental health conditions by providing information and education along with practical and emotional support to achieve optimum recovery for an individual.

Ward Manager Marianne Cole said, “As a trust we are extremely proud to receive QNOAMHS accreditation. It’s given us a benchmark to work towards in our everyday practice but it is important that we constantly look at ways to improve.”

Chief Executive Mark Axcell said, “We always strive to do our best and this accreditation recognises the dedication and hard work of all our staff and showcases the high quality of care that we provide. Many congratulations to all clinical staff and ward managers.”

The ward’s accreditation is valid up until June 2021.
