OCD Mental Health Forum

Our most recent Mental Health Forum took place on 16 June and saw presentations from Consultant Clinical Psychologist, Adam Pickles and Associate Specialist, Dr Suhail Undre, on the effects, signs and symptoms of OCD. ‘This Old Ghost‘, a poem about OCD, was shared at the event followed by a service user’s account of his experiences with OCD and how it has affected his life. Attendees also heard from Angela Hill, a carer for someone with OCD, who spoke of her life caring for a child with OCD through to their adult life.

There are many myths surrounding OCD as a mental health issue and the seriousness of the illness is not always acknowledged, the forum aimed to raise awareness of OCD and how it can be a barrier in many people’s lives.IMG_0118
