Trust Board now Complete for Mental Health Trust – 22/12/08

The board of directors at a Black Country mental health trust is now complete following the appointment of a new human resources director. Mandy Shanahan has taken up her post as an executive director at the Dudley and Walsall Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust (DWMHPT), which was launched on October 1.

The Trust Board is the governing body of DWMHPT and is held to account for the organisation’s performance in delivering healthcare and health improvement in Dudley and Walsall.

Membership includes a part-time chairman and non-executive directors, as well as executive directors, who are NHS staff.

Mandy, who lives in Birmingham, joined DWMHPT from South Birmingham Primary Care Trust where she was director of Human Resources and Organisational Development

She said: “I am delighted to be taking up my new post as executive director for human resources at Dudley and Walsall Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust.

“I am excited about the prospect of creating a new organisation focused on mental health, as well as being able to see real improvements in services and outcomes for the people of Dudley and Walsall.

“I want to create a centre of excellence for human resources business services and to ensure the services provided to both the mental health Trust and Dudley PCT are professional and responsive.”

Glyn Shaw, Chairman of the Trust, said: “I am very pleased to welcome Mandy to our Trust Board.

“Mandy brings many years of experience in the human resources field which will help our Board achieve its overall aims, which include providing leadership, setting strategic goals and identifying and maintaining the Trust’s values.”
