New Non-Executive Director joins Dudley and Walsall Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust – 02/08/13

The NHS Trust Development Authority (NHS TDA) and Dudley Walsall Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust have confirmed the appointment of Gill Cooper as Non-Executive Director of the Trust.

Gill brings to the role more than 20 years experience working within the health, social care and voluntary sectors across Dudley and Walsall. She has previously carried out the role of Non-Executive Director at various health boards, most recently as Non-Executive Director at Dudley Primary Care Trust. Gill was also Chair of the Black Country Cluster Board for Dudley, Sandwell, Wolverhampton and Walsall Primary Care Trusts.

Throughout Gill’s career, she has worked closely with service users and carers within communities across Dudley and Walsall and is passionate about providing the very best health services to our local communities.

Commenting on her appointment, Gill said: “I am really delighted to be joining Dudley and Walsall Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust, which provides high quality mental health services for people across Dudley and Walsall. I look forward to being part of the team to further develop these services over the next few years.”

Chairman of the Trust, Glyn Shaw, added: “I am very pleased to welcome Gill to our Trust Board. Her extensive experience within the local health economy will prove invaluable to the Trust as we work together to deliver high quality mental health services across our communities.”

Non-executive appointments to NHS Trusts made by the NHS TDA are subject to the Code of Practice of the Commissioner for Public Appointments.

Gill Cooper has been appointed from 1 August 2013 until 31 July 2017 and is entitled to receive a remuneration of £6,157 per annum.
