Mental Health Trust Rewards Wellbeing Festival Winners – 10/11/10

Three Walsall residents have been rewarded for coming out on top in a mental health-themed competition designed to promote healthy minds.

Dudley and Walsall Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust handed out prizes following the contest which tested people’s artistic flair, sports ability and mental agility at the recent Walsall Wellbeing Festival.

All three competitions were hotly contested but it was local residents, Lisa Cook, Salman Watandost and Joe Evitts that were victorious. Prizes included a year’s free membership at a local Walsall gym, an art supplies kit and a set of puzzle books.

Trust Chairman, Glyn Shaw, presented the winners with their prizes at Dorothy Pattison Hospital in Walsall and said:

“I was pleased to see so many visitors to the Walsall Wellbeing Festival taking an interest in our Trust and what we do and it gave me great pleasure to present prizes to the lucky winners of our mental health competitions.

“I was an honour for me to introduce this high profile event for a second time, and I am glad to see it has now become firmly established in the mental health calendar. Everyone had a fantastic time on the day, which attracted people there from across the Black Country and credit must go to everyone involved in organising the festival.

“As a mental health NHS Trust we will continue, along with our partners, to raise awareness and reduce the stigma attached to mental health.”
