Events Being Held For Changes To Mental Health Act – 15/10/08

Key changes to the Mental Health Act are set to be explained at two events being held in Dudley and Walsall.

The changes, which will impact on anyone who is or becomes subject to the Act, have been made in order to improve patient care, provide greater patient rights and safeguards and to keep up to date with changes in society and the way we care for people affected by a mental illness.

Walsall residents, patients, carers, support workers and agency staff are invited to go along to an event being held on:

Monday 20 October between 10.00 am and 1.00 pm at St Pauls the Crossing

People who will be affected by the changes in Dudley can attend an event on:

Thursday 23 October at 2.00 pm in the Council Chamber at Dudley Council House. Spaces at the Dudley venue are limited so pre-booking is essential.

There will be a mixture of short presentations, question and answer sessions, discussion groups and stalls at the free event.

Those who wish to attend the session are asked contact Jill Cloves on 01384 362365.
