New mindfulness CD launched

To mark Mental Health Awareness Week, the Trust is launching its new mindfulness CD. Seven mindfulness audio tracks, which were developed by Trust clinicians, can now be downloaded free of charge through the website. They will also be available in CD form at a series of events taking place across Dudley and Walsall this week (11 – 17 May).

Mindfulness is the national theme for Mental Health Awareness Week, organised by the Mental Health Foundation, and it is already known to be effective in helping people with mental and physical health problems, from stress, depression and anxiety to chronic pain, eating disorders and difficulty concentrating. Practising mindfulness can also boost our productivity at work, and give us a greater enjoyment of life.

Gary Graham, Chief Executive at Dudley and Walsall Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust, said: “Mindfulness is a helpful tool that anyone can use to manage stress, anxiety and more, and we’re pleased to be sharing its benefits with local residents free of charge. If you have any concerns about your mental health, please talk to your GP or another health professional.”

A list of events, including information on a free mindfulness seminar, can be found here. Follow this link to listen to or download the mindfulness audio tracks.
