Tips for Practice

The biggest challenge of applying mindfulness to everyday life can be remembering to be mindful. One way to think of practising mindfulness meditation is as building a muscle in the brain: the mindfulness muscle. The more you practise, the easier it is to be mindful in everyday life.

You don’t have to be religious or spiritual to practise meditation, and there is no right or wrong way of practising. It is simply about practising, with an open mind, and noticing your experiences without judgement.

When using the audio tracks, find a time and place where you can sit comfortably free from interruptions. Be patient with yourself and allow your experience to be your experience, without judging it. If you lose your place during the practice, just notice this without judgement and gently bring your attention back to the practice.
