Invitation to Mental Health Forum and AGM

Dudley and Walsall Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust is inviting the public to an event which will discuss breaking the silence around suicide at their quarterly mental health forum. The forum will be followed by the Trust’s Annual General Meeting (AGM).

The event, which is free and open to all, will be held on Thursday 6th September, 9.30am until 1pm at David Lloyd Club, Brierley Hill, Dudley, DY5 3YP.

The forum will feature guest speakers from the Trust, other local health organisations and service users who will discuss the subject of suicide and the help and support available for those affected by suicide or attempted suicide.

Dr Mark Weaver, Medical Director, said, “We aim to raise as much awareness as possible around suicide, inform people of the help and support they can access and reduce the stigma which makes these issues even more difficult for people to deal with.”

The forum will be followed by the AGM which will give people the opportunity to hear about the Trust’s achievements during 2017/18 and plans for the future, as well as finding out more about the services provided, followed by light refreshments.

Mark Axcell, Chief Executive, said, “Our AGM is a chance for the public to hear all about our fantastic services, our achievements over the last twelve months and look forward to our plans for the future. Everyone is invited to come along to find out more and pose their questions to the Board and other health professionals.”
