Inspiring the next generation

Dudley and Walsall Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust is one of 20 health, education and public sector organisations that are working in partnership with the newly built Health Futures University Technological College to inspire health workers of the future.

The University Technological College in West Bromwich offers young people across the region the chance to combine academic education with an opportunity to learn the essential technical and practical skills needed in the health and health sciences industries.

Lord Baker officially opened the college on 4 February 2016 at an event attending by local partners, young people and stakeholders.

Students will be prepared for and gain direct insight into a wide range of health careers such as nursing, paramedic services, radiography, pathology, physiotherapy and pharmacy within the NHS and private sector.
It will also seek to offer an outstanding science programme of study with both the University and employers playing a key role in promoting access to cutting-edge scientific techniques. A key feature will be close links with employers and involvement of patients, service users and carers in the planning, development and delivery of the curriculum.
