Healthwatch Walsall advisory board vacancies

John Taylor, former regional head of the Big Lottery Fund, was appointed chairman of Healthwatch Walsall last month. John, along with Simon Fogell, Chief Officer, is looking for up to ten volunteers to steer the work of the organisation which aims to improve health and social care in the Walsall borough. They will aim to work constructively with local health and social care providers and commissioners, other local Healthwatch organisations and the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

Members of the advisory board are responsible for driving the development of the service and will act as the eyes and ears of the organisation, monitoring the quality of services and creating strong public engagement. Advisory board members will also help decide the priorities for Healthwatch activity and formulate future plans for the organisation. Duties are expected to take only two days per month, with out-of-pocket expenses reimbursed. Volunteers need no formal qualifications.

Anyone interested is urged to call 01922 665010, email or visit the Healthwatch website. The closing date for applications is Wednesday 15 February.
