Family fun day in Walsall

To celebrate the NHS turning 70 NHS organisations in Walsall have worked together to hold a Community Fun Day.

The event, which takes place this Saturday (14 July) at Walsall Arboretum is open to the public where there will be food venders, stalls and games. Attendees will also be able to watch NHS staff compete against each other in It’s a Knockout.

During the event the Mayor of Walsall, Councillor Marco Longhi will present the Arboretum with a tree on behalf of Walsall NHS, as a token to mark its 70th birthday. The tree will then be planted in the Arboretum’s orchard in the autumn.

Davie Carns, of Lead the Way Fitness will also be there with a coconut shy, penalty shoot-out and retro games and activities for people of all ages and abilities to enjoy. These activities can be enjoyed by visitors with disabilities.

The event takes place from 10am until 3pm and entry is £1 per person. All money raised will be donated to Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust charity Well Wishers. Parking will also be available on site.
