Dudley and Walsall among one of the best according to patients

Dudley and Walsall Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust’s services have been ranked in the top 20%, according the results of a national survey completed by patients.

The National Community Mental Health annual survey, carried out by Quality Health, explores the experiences of patients using community mental health services across the Trust.

Dudley and Walsall Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust scored particularly well in a number of areas including overall care and treatment, patients’ health and social care workers understanding their needs and medicines and support for patients’ wellbeing.

There are some areas for improvement across the Trust including changes within patients’ care teams and the understanding of some therapies received by patients.

Chief Executive Mark Axcell said, “The results from this year’s Community Mental Health Survey are really encouraging and I want to thank all staff for their continued support to ensure that we deliver high-quality mental health services for people across Dudley and Walsall.

“We are committed to continuously improving patient experience and so this feedback will help us to highlight areas we need to put greater focus on.”

“We have already developed an action plan and hope to build further upon these results in next year’s survey.”
