Dementia awareness in BME communities

During this Dementia Awareness Week we are aiming to raise awareness of Dementia within our communities. One of our consultants produced a DVD called ‘The Journey of Memory’ particularly aimed at raising awareness around Dementia in BME communities.

The DVD includes a short film about a grandfather’s struggle with memory loss and the challenges he and his family face. It also includes information and advice from health professionals about how to cope with dementia and where to go for help.

The DVD is available in Urdu and Punjabi.

You can request a copy of the DVD by emailing dwmh.communication@nhs.net
