Supporting people bereaved and affected by suicide

Research has decisively shown that the friends and family of someone who has died by suicide are at increased risk of suicide themselves. Often referred to as Postvention, good support to those bereaved by suicide can help people to grieve and recover and can be a critical element of preventing further suicides from happening.

There is no single or one right way to respond to a suicide, this needs to be specific to the people involved.
