Crisis

Crisis

‘The iCAMHS team support children and young people who require urgent and more intense support with their mental health needs, this support aims to prevent hospital admissions. The team works 7 days a week, from 8am to 8pm, 365 days a year, ensuring those in crisis receive better access to mental health services. Experiencing a mental health crisis may take a number of forms including, but not limited to, psychotic experiences such as hearing voices, relapse of a serious mental illness or thoughts of suicide or acts of self-harm. The team can be accessed via local acute hospital, referrals from GPs via our urgent GP pathway or via a referral from the Dudley CAMHS team.’

If a young person is in need of urgent crisis support outside of the operating hours for ICAMHS we recommend that you access your nearest Accident & Emergency department.
