Crisis‘The iCAMHS team support children and young people who require urgent and more intense support with their mental health needs, this support aims to prevent hospital admissions. The team works 7 days a week, from 8am to 8pm, 365 days a year, ensuring those in crisis receive better access to mental health services. Experiencing a mental health crisis may take a number of forms including, but not limited to, psychotic experiences such as hearing voices, relapse of a serious mental illness or thoughts of suicide or acts of self-harm. The team can be accessed via local acute hospital, referrals from GPs via our urgent GP pathway or via a referral from the Dudley CAMHS team.’ If a young person is in need of urgent crisis support outside of the operating hours for ICAMHS we recommend that you access your nearest Accident & Emergency department.
