CAMHS (Dudley)

Dudley CAMHS is a community mental health service based within the Dudley Borough. The service is based at The Elms Health Centre and provides a service to children and young people up to the age of 16 years old who have a Dudley GP. Referrals can be made by GP, Paediatrician and social care. The team compromises of psychiatrists, social workers, nurses, occupational therapists, psychologists, counsellors, family therapists, psychotherapists. We provide specialist interventions for those young people who are experience complex to severe mental health issues. These interventions may include therapeutic support, family support or diagnosis for example Autistic Spectrum Disorder or ADHD. Our CAMHS service aims to work together with the young person, family and the network of other professionals such as education and social care in order to offer the most appropriate support and co-ordination. We at all times hold the child/young person’s voice in our journey together and ensure we respond to the needs of the young person and their family at all times. Our GP liaison Service allows young people and their families to access a CAMHS assessment within their GP surgery which can reduce waiting times and ensures those who do or do not require our service have access and information about appropriate services which can support them.
